MATHÉMATIQUES Comment peux-tu résoudre ce problème? Est-ce que tu fais un addition ou soustraction? Qu'est ce que tu dois savoir à propos des nombres de jours dans une année? LITERACY Students have begun a new author study, Robert Munsch! They began by comparing the French and English versions of one of Mme Ireland's favourites.
Thoma's Snowsuit/L'habit de neige. Ask your child to tell you more about VENN DIAGRAMS and how they are used as a learning tool. They also started their inquiry with a brainstorming session on "What do we know about Robert Munsch?" and "What do we want to know about Robert Munsch?"
NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! There is no school on Friday. Bonne fin de semaine les amis! Amusez-vous! Mme Ireland will be away on Monday and Tuesday next week. Mme Frances will be the substitute teacher! Lucky students! Maya's Blog Post

Walking Field Trip Reminder Tomorrow is our walking field trip to Research Park. We will be spending a full 2 hours outside in WINTER les amis! Please remember to wear your snowpants, winter jacket, winter boots, touque and mittens. During December's outing there were many students who were inadequately dressed, which forced us to shorten our outing. Let's all be prepared on Tuesday please! The focus of our outing will be Science. We will be experimenting with how sound travels as well as deepening our connection to place and nature! Our route takes us down 40th street to 40 ave and across to Vardana Rd, where will then take the "secret path" to Research Park on 37th st. As always, Mme Ireland will have her cell phone and first aid kit as well as two other adult volunteers. Hazards include: vehicular traffic, off leash dogs, other park users. This is managed through crossing only at marked cross walks, traveling as a group, and adult supervision. Félicitations PT3 Well done PT3 students! Your efforts in preparing for today's assembly were worth it! Your performance was exceptional. I am very proud of you! Toujours Plus Haut! Ask me to tell you about the setting (where the story takes place), the main characters and the sequence of events. I would also love to share my favourite part of the story with you! We are also close to finishing a picture book called "Mountains to Climb". It is about a boy named Roberto and his pet Llama called Consuelo. She is a one-eyed Llama!
