David's Blog Today we had special lunch. It was pizza! We had another story about Olemaun and the story was called "Not My Girl", by Margaret Pokiak-Fenton and Christy Fenton. "We have read four stories about residential schools and two of them were written by the same author. One of them is about when Olemaun went to school and the other is about when she came back. I noticed that when she went home she wasn't remembered by her mother. She got her hair cut and was wearing different clothes". - Maggie As students explore the concept of reconciliation, they are beginning to understand the importance of sharing stories, respecting the rights of others and developing relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. We are looking to forward to ORANGE SHIRT DAY on Monday, October 1st. Please wear orange because Every Child Matters! Comments are closed.
